St Mark’s Day 2018
St Mark’s was buzzing on Friday 27th April as the school filled with visitors from a widevariety of industries.
Students from years 7 – 10 were all off timetable and instead followed a carousel of Careers-related activities, from listening to employers talk about their professions to workshops helping them learn more about personality and how to find a job that would best suit them, to workshops about Travel & Tourism and going to university and finally a Careers Fair where students mingled and chatted to prospective employers!
It was a hugely successful day and students really threw themselves into all the activities with gusto. Visitors praised the students and many of them have already asked to come back next year!
Reflecting on the day, one Year 9 student wrote “I definitely really feel like I have the whole world and my future ahead of me. I feel very inspired and feel like I have a lot more direction now.”
We would like to thank all the visitors who so generously offered their time and expertise, and we hope to have them back again at some point in the future.
