Christmas Community Party
The St Mark’s Christmas Party is an important and popular event that is a firm fixture in the school calendar and this year was no exception. Since the event began in 1969, St Mark’s School has played host to over 5,000 local elderly residents by providing refreshments, entertainment, free raffles and a ‘surprise’ visit from Father Christmas. Now in it’s 47th year, the school continues to welcome members of the local community for a fabulously festive celebration.
The whole school community gets involved in the event from fundraising, catering, singing and serving to table decorations, making invitations and thank you cards. Parents, students and staff members pulled together to make the festivities go off in style through their donations of raffle prizes and a Christmas gift for everyone attending.
It is events such as these that bring our school community together to create a dynamic and creative learning experience whilst providing a warm and festive welcome to the local senior residents of Larkhall.
Thank you to everyone involved but especially Mrs Hills for organising everyone and everything, Mrs Chambers on Reception for her warm welcome to all of our visitors, Mrs Carrington for decorating the huge Christmas cake, Ms Lyons and Miss Gooding for organising the entertainment, our amazing PTA and Rose for serving refreshments and our ASDAN students (together with Mr Leonard and Ms Balfre) for their expert present wrapping skills!
