St Mark’s School hosts Gifted and Talented Primary Athletes
St Mark’s School is hosting a Gifted and Talented sports course for Year 6 athletes from Batheaston Primary, Bathampton Primary, Bathwick St Mary’s Primary, St Saviour’s Juniors and St John’s Catholic Primary.
Becca Higgs, from the University of Bath Sports Development Team, is leading the sessions. The fourteen pupils are receiving workshops in agility, balance and coordination. The pupils, who were selected for their all-round sporting abilities, also get to play competitive games and challenges amongst themselves.
The pupils who would normally be the most tactically able in their classes are challenged when they are playing with and against other gifted athletes. At the end of the five sessions some of the pupils will be invited to further workshops at the Sports Training Village at the University of Bath. The programme is funded by the School Sports Partnership.
