Science Workshops are out of this world!
Year 5 pupils from St Saviour’s Junior School recently had the opportunity to attend a workshop run by inspiring science teachers at St Mark’s. The themed day was designed as an interesting and innovative way to stimulate and enthuse pupils about their current study of Earth and Science.
Pupils partook in various experiments, activities and discussions, enhancing their learning on topics such as water and air pressure, the solar system and the chemistry of planetary atmospheres. The boys and girls also had the chance to watch live footage from the International Space Station, accompanied by audio conversations between the crew and Mission Control.
Pupils collaborated well on the day and impressed staff with their ability to understand such a variety of different topics.
This workshop is just one example of how St Mark’s School are working in close partnership with local primary schools, sharing resources and expertise, for the benefit of young people.
