Larkhall Remembers World War II
Students from St Mark’s School and St Saviour’s Junior School have been working with the Valley Added Project, Larkhall Friendship Circle and Close Range Films to create a living memory of Larkhall to commemorate 70 years since VE Day.
Six students in Years 8 and 9, together with six Year 5 pupils from St Saviour’s Juniors have been interviewing and filming elderly residents at Hanover Court, in Larkhall, of their memories of the Second World War and more specifically, the celebrations of VE Day in 1945.
The film was shown during a special themed tea-party on Sunday 3rd May at the Larkhall Liberal Club, together with bunting, cakes and an old-fashioned sing-a-long.
